Once again prompted with an open ended photography project, I began to explore product photography. Originally, I wanted to explore the nature in which products have been marketed since the start of the pandemic. The product? Alcohol. Set with the intention to make lighthearted mock ads for alcohol and cocktails in the pandemic, I ended up in a completely different place. After taking my first round of photos, I found them too dull and more like stock photos. They were essentially visually uninteresting for the approach I wanted, and this is where my exploration shifted. I then decided to make images that could hold your eyes for more than a single moment. With this shift, I introduced different colors with the lighting and explored with the repetition of props.
